PIGBLUP formatThe PIGBLUP system requires a fixed format. Information about this format is listed in a pdf file "PBLUP_format.pdf". Please contact the PIGBLUP team at pigblup@une.edu.au if you have any questions. Please note, the newly developed program FileMerger, which is part of PIGBLUP V5.20, allows users to convert data into the specific PIGBLUP data format. Therefore, herd recording systems that do not provide the specific PIGBLUP interface may now be used by breeders. Herd Recording SystemsMIPSMIPS is fully compatible with PIGBLUP and merges BLUP EBVs into its reports. It is used by commercial, stud and outdoor piggeries across Australia and New Zealand. MIPS is Year 2000 compliant and incorporates a range of Quality Assurance features. MIPS has been designed to work for Windows 95, 98 and NT. A free trial and conversion from other systems is available. http://www.mips-software.com.au/ For more information contact: Terry Hartmann - Ph: 0419 925 684 or email: tezzos@ozemail.com.au EasicareEasicare is used in the UK and USA. This herd recording system is indirectly compatible to PIGBLUP as the data must first be filtered. For more information contact: Jon Mercer - Bell Genetics on JonMercer@compuserve.com HermanHerman was developed by Peter Fyfe to be compatible with PIGBLUP and was modelled on the herd run by the family. It is designed more towards the breeding aspect of production rather than the commercial aspect. At present the traits recorded include average daily gain (ADG), backfat (BF) and number born alive (NBA). For more information contact: Alan Fyfe - Ph: (08) 8528 2082 BOOTThe Boot System is fully compatible with PIGBLUP without the need for filtering and is used in 22 countries including Australia and New Zealand, besides its main activity in Britain where it is predominant.
